all that sound & open music

all that sound & open music

I believe in music as a way of building bridges between people.

Radio Host, M.A. African Studies, Producer

Born (1965) and raised in the culturally rich town of Weimar in East Germany, I grew up in a musical household. My father was a musicologist, my mother a radio host. I glued together both these influences by becoming a music radio host myself. But first I graduated at the University of Leipzig as MA of African Studies with focus on linguistics. I am a professional interpreter for Kiswahili, the major lingua franca in East Africa, and started my career as an editor in Radio Berlin International, and later became a Kiswahili radio presenter for Deutsche Welle, the “Voice of Germany”. Being also attracted by making radio in my mother tongue German, I started working for public radio channels all around Germany:  DT64 (former youth radio), Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk MDR (East Germany), Bayerischer Rundfunk BR (Bavaria), Westdeutscher Rundfunk WDR (West Germany), Funkhaus Europa/Cosmo (multicultural), Südwestfunk SWR (South West Germany). I regularly host many radio music programs with music from all over the globe.
